The more encouraging sign is that Cashbox has found its feet at Class 5 level, winning 1 of its last 3 races at that standard—a win rate of 33 percent, which is solid. The horse's breakthrough came at Lingfield Park in September 2025, and it followed that up with another victory at Newmarket in October. But there's a ten-month gap since that last win, which raises a question mark about whether the horse has been kept busy or has simply struggled to recapture that form. Having raced just yesterday, Cashbox is back in active competition, so the yard are clearly keen to get the horse racing regularly again.

Charles Hills trains from a well-resourced yard at Lambourn, and the fact that he's already sent out 29 winners this season shows the operation is in form. Whether Cashbox can return to winning ways and build on its Class 5 success will depend on the horses it faces next and the conditions it encounters. For now, it remains a capable but streaky performer—capable enough to win on its day, but unreliable enough that backing it would be a lottery.
