That one career win came at Clonmel in January 2024, and it remains the only one. Twenty-seven months have passed since that day, and the six races since have brought a string of placed and mid-field efforts — the recent form reading 3rd, 6th, 5th, 2nd, and 5th in the runs we have figures for. The second place is the bright spot in there, a sign the talent hasn't entirely dried up, but a winner's enclosure visit has stayed stubbornly out of reach.

Mr T Power Roche has been in the saddle for 7 of Casey West's 12 races, and that partnership has produced the horse's only win — 1 from 7 together, a win rate of around 14%, which is meaningfully better than the overall career figure. That suggests there's some genuine understanding between horse and rider, even if results have been hard to come by lately.

The trainer, P J Rothwell, operates out of Tinahely in County Wicklow and is having a productive season — 35 winners sent out so far, which is a yard clearly in good form. Casey West hasn't been a major contributor to that tally, but the horse raced just 17 days ago and remains in active training, so Rothwell clearly believes there's still something to work with. Whether another win is in the cards at this stage of a ten-year-old's career is the open question — but the yard is in the kind of form that gives every horse in it a fair chance.
