The horse shows a real liking for Chelmsford, where he has won 2 of his 3 races at the track. His first career victory came there in December 2022, and he returned to take a Class 2 race at the same venue three months later. That kind of course form is valuable; it suggests he knows the surface and the layout. Away from Chelmsford, though, his record flattens considerably, which is worth keeping in mind when assessing his prospects elsewhere.

Ground conditions matter enormously to Capital Theory. On normal, standard ground he has won 4 of 11 races—a 36% win rate that jumps to a remarkable 50% on slightly soft going (2 wins from 4 races). But put him on fast, dry ground and his win rate collapses. This is a horse that needs some give underfoot; dry turf doesn't suit him at all. He also performs best at distances between a mile and a furlong and a mile and two furlongs, though his record at those lengths is limited.

What stands out most sharply is his recent form. Capital Theory last won at Naas in October 2025—a full ten months ago—and his last six races show little to excite. Since that Naas victory he has picked up just one place finish, suggesting his winning days may be behind him or that he is dropping away with age. He raced just yesterday, so he remains active and in work with trainer H D McGuigan in County Donegal. But until the ground softens and he finds himself back at a course where he knows the way home, it is hard to see where the next win comes from.
