This is not a horse smuggled into a weak race to steal a win; it is a young animal beginning to justify the faith placed in it by one of the country's leading trainers.

Having raced just yesterday, Bright Summer is right in the thick of an active campaign. There is very little to go on beyond two runs, which is part of what makes the next few months so intriguing — the ceiling here is genuinely unknown. A horse that places and then wins in its first two outings is learning fast, and at three years old, there is every reason to expect more improvement to come.
