What keeps things interesting is the context around the horse rather than the horse itself right now. Trainer R Mike Smith, based in Galston in East Ayrshire, has sent out 25 winners already this season — that's a yard clearly doing something right, and it suggests Brewdog isn't sitting in a struggling stable waiting for someone to figure things out. Twenty-five winners in a season is a healthy, active operation, which means when Smith decides to keep running Brewdog, there's presumably a plan behind it. The horse raced just yesterday, so the yard are clearly not giving up on finding the right opportunity.

At three races in, it would be harsh to write Brewdog off entirely. Some horses simply take time to figure out what's being asked of them, and a yard with 25 winners on the board this season isn't short of patience or know-how. The next run will be worth watching — not because the form book demands optimism, but because at some point, something has to change.
