It runs out of Peter Maher's yard in Donore, Co Kildare, a small operation that has sent out one winner so far this season. That context matters — this isn't a powerhouse stable throwing resources at problems, and Boston Fire is likely one of many horses Maher is quietly trying to find the right opportunity for. Sometimes the right race just hasn't come along yet. Sometimes it doesn't. At seven, Boston Fire is no longer young, and the window for improvement is narrower than it once was. The next few races will matter.
