The recent form makes for interesting reading. That sequence of 13, a gap in running, 21, 3, and 6 tells a mixed story — a third-place finish suggests the horse can be competitive, but results either side of it have been patchy. The blank in the middle of that run of form, where the horse did not race for a period, may have disrupted any momentum. What is clear is that Bobby Kirova has not been running badly enough to be written off, but has not yet put a race together from start to finish.
Trainer Michael Butler has had just one winner out of his yard this season, which means resources may be modest and patience is likely the order of the day. With Bobby Kirova having raced just yesterday, the horse is clearly being kept busy, and that kind of active campaign can sometimes be exactly what a young horse needs to find its stride. Five races in is still relatively early in a career, and plenty of horses take time to work out what racing is actually about. The next few runs will be telling.
