There has been a gap of around three months since the last run, which is a meaningful pause at this stage of a young horse's life. Whether that break has been used to address something specific or simply to let the horse mature and develop is hard to say, but the yard — sorry, the team — will be hoping it returns in better shape than it left.

The trainer is Tom Dascombe, who operates out of Upper Lambourn in Berkshire and has had 22 winners on the board this season. That is a yard in decent working order, which means Bluebluelectricblu is at least in capable hands. The challenge now is finding a race where this horse can finally show some of the improvement that those gradually better finishing positions hint at. Not every young horse takes to racing immediately — some need time, some need the right conditions, and some simply need more experience. The next run will tell us quite a bit about which category this one falls into.
