Blood Destiny

Two of those five wins have come at Naas, from just three visits, and that kind of record at a single track is not a coincidence. His most recent win came there in February 2026, just two months ago, and by the sound of trainer David Casey afterwards, the penny had well and truly dropped. Casey noted that Blood Destiny obviously likes it around there, that the conditions suited him, and that on a "going day" — his phrase for when the horse is properly in the mood — he is not a bad horse at all. That gentle understatement from an Irish racing yard is worth translating: it means the horse showed up and delivered when it mattered.

The other factor that lifts Blood Destiny above ordinary is what happens when the ground gets wet and muddy. In three races on very wet ground he has won twice — that is a win rate of 67%, or two from every three attempts — which is a remarkable conversion rate and suggests the soft stuff genuinely brings out the best in him. Given that he races through the Irish winter calendar, that is a useful trait.

Paul Townend, one of jump racing's most sought-after jockeys and Mullins' first choice rider, has partnered Blood Destiny in 16 of his 19 races, winning 5 of them. That is roughly 1 in every 3 rides together, which tells you Townend knows this horse well and the yard trusts the combination. Mullins himself is operating at a quite extraordinary level this season — 230 winners sent out already — and Blood Destiny, while not the stable star, is clearly still considered worth placing carefully.

He raced just yesterday, which means he is very much in active campaign, and with wet ground available and Naas in the calendar, the people who follow this horse closely will know exactly what to look for.
