What makes the situation worth watching, though, is who has her in training. Gavin Cromwell operates out of Navan in County Meath and has sent out 97 winners already this season — that is the output of a yard that knows exactly what it is doing. Horses trained by Cromwell tend to come good eventually, and with a three-year-old who has raced just four times, there is still every reason to believe improvement is coming. She raced as recently as yesterday, so the yard are clearly keeping faith and keeping her active.
The finishing positions have actually shown a very slight trend in the right direction — she went from 5th to 6th, then 8th, then 7th — though it would be generous to call that progress. At this stage, Blissful Bonita is one for the patient observer rather than the eager punter. The right race, the right day, and a yard with nearly 100 winners behind it could yet make her interesting.
