The recent form tells an interesting story. Three placings sandwiched around a sixth means Big Shot Veto has been competitive more often than not, and with a race just yesterday, it is very much a horse in the middle of its campaign rather than winding down. At this age, improvement is still very much on the cards.
The trainer, Lemos De Souza, operates out of Newmarket — one of the most famous racing towns in the world, where the flat roads and wide gallops have been producing top horses for centuries. With 19 winners already sent out this season, this is clearly a yard in good form, and that matters. Horses trained by busy, confident yards tend to be better prepared and better placed in the right races. Big Shot Veto may still be waiting for its moment, but it is in good hands while it does so.
