Trainer Rod Millman, who runs the yard at Kentisbeare in Devon, has built a successful operation this season — 42 winners to his name — but Be An Angel remains frustratingly elusive despite her efforts. The horse does have one clear strength: dry ground. On fast, firm surfaces she has won twice from 10 races (20%), compared to her overall win rate of just 9%. That is a genuine edge, and it hints at what she might achieve if conditions play into her hands and her form clicks into place again.
Interestingly, Lewis Edmunds has been her most frequent partner, but the pairing has yet to produce a winner from seven attempts together. After Leicester gave her a breakthrough victory in late May 2025, Salisbury followed with her second win this July. The gap between victories — over a year — underlines how hard she has had to work for success. She races mostly at Class 5 level, the lower tiers of British racing, and has won just once from 13 races at that grade. Be An Angel remains an active runner, raced just a day ago, and while her record is modest, those two wins prove she is not without ability. She simply needs the right race, the right ground, and perhaps the right moment to deliver it more often.
