The standout moment of his career came at Uttoxeter in March 2023, when he won a Class 2 race — one of the top races in Britain — on what was also his first ever win. That is a fairly remarkable way to open your account. Jockey Paddy Brennan described him afterwards as "an enormous horse and a great jumper," and the team were so bullish they immediately announced plans to target the Welsh National. Uttoxeter has remained his happy hunting ground: he has won 2 of his 6 races there, which is a genuinely strong record at a specific track and suggests something about the course — its layout, its terrain — suits him particularly well.

His most regular partner in the saddle has been A P Heskin, who has ridden him in 7 races and won 1 of them (roughly 1 in every 7). Heskin has spoken enthusiastically about Autonomous Cloud's ability, specifically flagging the long-distance staying races as his best opportunity and name-checking the Midlands National as a future target. That kind of race — gruelling, stamina-sapping, often run in tough conditions — suits big, powerful jumpers, which is exactly how his the yard have described him.

He is trained by Harry Derham at Upper Lambourn, a yard that has hit real form this season with 57 winners — a serious output that puts it among the more productive operations in the country. His recent form has been inconsistent, with a mix of pulled-up and unplaced runs either side of a win at Cartmel in May 2025, and he raced just one day ago, so he is very much still in active campaigning. Most of his races have come at Class 3 level, where he has won 1 from 8 (12%), suggesting he is competitive at that grade without dominating it. A horse who can win a Class 2 but operates mainly at Class 3 is one whose best days may still depend on finding the right race at the right moment — and at Uttoxeter, he has shown he can find exactly that.
