The headline result came at Newbury on 11 February 2023, when Aslukgoes won a Class 1 race — the highest level in British racing. To put that in context, most horses spend their entire careers without getting close to that level, let alone winning at it. Mickey Bowen, his trainer based in Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, was clearly excited about where the horse might go next, talking in the aftermath about the possibility of Punchestown and noting that Aslukgoes seemed to grow in confidence with every race. "The more racing he's getting, the better he's getting," Bowen said, adding that the horse had walked around Newmarket like he owned the place. That kind of relaxed swagger in a new environment is exactly what separates a good horse from a great one.
What followed was frustrating. Bowen confirmed at the end of 2023 that Aslukgoes had picked up an injury in pre-training and would miss an entire season. The trainer was candid about not rushing him back, calling him "very gifted" and simply trusting that time would do its job.
It did. Aslukgoes returned and has been competing again, with a win at Worcester as recently as July 2025 — just ten months ago. Worcester is clearly a happy hunting ground: two wins from four races there, a record that suggests the track suits him rather than being a coincidence. He also does his best work on normal ground, winning 4 of his 7 races in those conditions, a 57 percent win rate that speaks for itself. His most recent form reads 4-6-7-4-1 going back through his last five completed runs, so there have been some mid-table finishes, but the win is the most recent result of all, which is the right way round.
Jockey Jack Quinlan has partnered him in six of his eleven races and won twice together — roughly 1 in every 3 rides — a partnership that clearly works. Bowen's yard has sent out 51 winners this season alone, so Aslukgoes is operating within a genuinely productive stable. A horse who has already won at the top level, loves a track he knows, and is currently racing in form is worth keeping an eye on.
