The pattern of its recent form — third, third, second, second — does at least suggest improvement. Whether that trajectory continues into a first win is the question everyone connected with the horse will be asking. It raced just yesterday, so it is very much in the thick of an active campaign, and at three years old there is still plenty of racing ahead.
Argy Bhaji is trained by James Fanshawe, one of the more respected names operating out of Newmarket, the historic Suffolk town that sits at the centre of British flat racing. Fanshawe's yard has been in strong form this season, sending out 45 winners — a number that reflects a well-run, well-stocked operation with the knowhow to place horses in races they can win. The fact that Argy Bhaji has not yet broken through is not for lack of capable handling. Sometimes a horse just needs one thing to click — a particular track, a particular distance, the right day — and suddenly that elusive first win arrives. With a trainer in this kind of form, the opportunity will come.
