Appassionata is a two-year-old still learning the trade. The horse has run twice without finishing in the money, trailing home seventh both times. With Sir Mark Prescott's yard firing on all cylinders — 47 winners sent out already this season — there's every reason to think Appassionata will improve. Young horses often need a few outings to understand what racing is all about, and being trained by one of Britain's sharpest minds gives this one a genuine chance to turn things around.
