The trainer is Neil Mulholland, operating out of Limpley Stoke in Wiltshire, and his yard has been in fine form this season with 60 winners on the board. That context is worth holding onto. A trainer sending out that volume of winners clearly knows how to place a horse and get results — which suggests that when Anthracite's moment does come, it won't be for lack of trying on the team's part. Whether Anthracite can finally deliver that breakthrough is the open question, but it is at least in the hands of people who know what winning looks like.
