The first win came at Newcastle in April 2025, and even Nigel Tinkler, who trains him from his yard in Langton, North Yorkshire, admitted he was surprised by how well the horse did it. "He was quite weak and just needed a lot of time," Tinkler said afterwards. It was a promising start for a horse still finding his feet. The second win followed at Redcar in November, and this time there was real conviction to it — Tinkler called it "absolutely brilliant," noting that jockey Alex Jary gave him a brilliant ride and that the horse "won very easily." Those two wins, separated by seven months, suggest Andalprofit can perform when everything clicks — the right track, the right conditions, the right ride.

The problem is that clicking everything into place has proved elusive. Between and around those victories, Andalprofit has drawn a blank in 20 of his 22 races, including nine attempts at Class 5 level — the lower end of the racing ladder — without a single win. Tinkler has been candid about why. Speaking last October, he described a horse who "worries" and has "lost confidence in himself," adding that a promising run at Haydock in May had raised hopes that never quite materialised. That kind of psychological fragility is real in horses, and it matters as much as physical ability.

Regular jockey Alex Jary has ridden him in 16 of those 22 races, winning twice together — a win rate of 12%, or 2 from 16 — which is actually above the horse's overall average and suggests the partnership suits him. Tinkler's yard has been in strong form this season, sending out 37 winners, so the platform is there. Andalprofit raced just yesterday and remains active. Whether confidence and consistency can finally come together is the question — but he has shown twice now that when they do, he can win with something to spare.
