The recent form figures tell a consistent story, just not a flattering one. Finishing 10th, then 5th, then three consecutive 7ths, and most recently 8th, Amalfi Bluebell has largely been making up the numbers. She raced just yesterday, so at least there is no shortage of opportunity being given to her — the yard is clearly willing to keep running her and hoping something clicks.
She is trained by Barry Brennan at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, a well-regarded training base in the heart of racing country. Brennan's yard has sent out six winners already this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse to the front — Amalfi Bluebell simply hasn't been one of them yet. At three years old, there is still time for improvement, but on what she has shown across six races, she will need to find considerably more before she becomes one to follow.
