The journey between those two victories, and in between them, is relatively clean — just one unplaced race separating his current record. That kind of consistency, combined with back-to-back wins early in his short career, suggests he has found a level where he can compete. Patrick Neville, his trainer based in Coverham in North Yorkshire, is running a productive yard this season with 28 winners to his name already, which speaks to a stable that knows how to get horses ready. For a four-year-old still early in his racing life, Alfred Wincham looks like a horse that has found his feet and could well keep finding the winners' circle.
