Ahellofaman

The recent form does at least show some flickers of promise buried in there. A second-place finish five races ago suggests Ahellofaman is capable of competing, but the figures either side of it — including a 15th-place finish — paint a picture of inconsistency that will be testing the patience of trainer John Joseph Hanlon and his team in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow. Racing as recently as yesterday, the horse remains very much in active campaigning, which shows the yard still believes there is a race to be won somewhere.

Hanlon's operation has been in decent enough form this season, sending out 11 winners, so the infrastructure and knowhow is clearly there. The question is simply whether Ahellofaman can find a race that suits well enough to finally get off the mark. Every horse without a win is one good day away from changing that record entirely — but with ten races already gone, that day needs to come soon.
