The first win for the current yard came at Carlisle in November 2024, and by all accounts it was an eye-catching one. Trainers Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero were quick to note how the horse put its head down and kept finding after the final fence — the kind of gritty detail that excites a yard, because it tells you the horse wants to win, not just compete. They had already seen good things at home, and pointed to some promising point-to-point form in the background, suggesting there was more to come in a competitive spring race. That confidence was not misplaced. Aboutdamntime won again at Catterick Bridge just two days later in November 2025, confirming it had well and truly arrived at a decent level.

The partnership with jockey Craig Nichol has been the constant thread through this story. Nichol has been in the saddle for 10 of the 12 career races, and the two wins have both come with him aboard — a win rate of 20%, or 1 in every 5 rides together. That kind of consistency matters. It suggests Nichol understands how to get the best from a horse that clearly needs things done a certain way.

The yard itself is in good shape. Greenall and Guerriero have sent out 43 winners this season, which is a productive operation by any measure, and Aboutdamntime has been at the heart of it. Racing most often at Class 4 level — solid, competitive races without quite reaching the top tier — the horse has won 1 from 5 at that grade, or 20%. Respectable rather than spectacular, but consistent with a horse that knows its level and performs within it.

The last six races have brought no wins, with just a second and a third to show for it, and the most recent run was just yesterday. Whether another victory is around the corner is hard to say — but at a yard hitting its straps and with a trusted jockey in the saddle, Aboutdamntime has all the ingredients to make the name relevant again soon.
